Hi there, I have been looking at my cpu and ram specs on CPU-Z. I have a q6600 running at stock with g0 stepping and 8gb of ddr2 800mhz ram (generic I presume). If the FSB is set to 266.67 (default) and the FSB: DRAM ratio is 2:3 then does that mean that the memory is operating at its maximum non-overclocked speed of 800mhz (266.67x2x1.5) or is it limited to twice the FSB regardless of ratios (2x266.67 = 533.33mhz)?

Sorry of this is a newbish question but I don't have much experience with computers and am trying to improve my knowledge.

If the FSB is 266.67, and the ratio is 2:3, then the ram is operating at (266.67x1.5), which is 400mhz, but 800mhz effective. Yes this is the maximum non-overclocked speed of your ram.
