[SOLVED] Memory stick not working

So today i bought a ram stick 2gb 1333mhz and when i installed it the system kept turning on for a second and then powering off and then doing that until i unplugged it
Tried everything every slot every configuration i don't know if it's the memory broken
And it can't be compatibility issue cause i have one more stick the same 1333mhz and it works just so i know if i got scammed or not

Depends on the memory DDR2 was fairly plug and play then came DDR3 about the same till they started making high density memory.

More information like motherboard make and model and the same with the memory might get a better answer. Also the other PC it was tried on.

But in general it sounds like bad stick.
