And dont give up i've felt like this, then i just get on with it.
Perhaps your Dell machine is dead did you check the PSU with a multimeter???
I bet it is just a bios setting that has killed the HDD but i dint know
If you are in warranty then get a replacment, hopefully that will mean a newer(faster machione) anyway???
