Hey guys, so I have a problem. It all started when I try to install some games and it kept crashing. So I ran memtest and got a bunch of errors immediately and it's has climbed to 1500 errors I disconnected one stick and everything worked fine. Then I swapped them and everything worked fine. I tried putting each one in different slot alone and it worked fine. Only when I put both of them there's errors. I tried putting both of them on different slots and still errors? Could this be a bad motherboard or a bad CPU? What should I do? Thanks for all the help in advance

Both sticks are from the same kit an are identical
The computer is a few years old (custom built)
Rayzon 5 5600x
Asus tuf 450m plus
G skill 2x8
GeForce 4080
Psu 550

did you check bios? there might be a bio update or just the optimization of the ram
Thanks for the comment my friend
I just reset it to default (xmp is on Auto by default)
I didn't try updating my bios but could that really be the case ? I mean it worked fine till know what could have changed

And again man thanks for helping me

What ram slots did you put ram modules in?
For two module configuration ram modules should be placed in slots A2, B2 (grey color ram slots).
I had them in the correct slots and it failed I have tried every combination there is (I have 4 slots tried all options with 2 sticks and 1 sticks) errors only appear with both of them connected no matter which slots I out them in

And both are from the same kit and have worked for a few years problem free till now

Thanks for trying to help my man

Ok development in the case
I just did another test to the sticks on of them failed only one pass with only one error could that be the reason for everything?

The first thing to do is get a proper psu to support the 4080.
