The New games of this year that comes with DX11 has an immersive story and gameplay. I'd like to ask if theres a way to rise the frame rates with everything at max of ANY GAME POSSIBLE without sacrificing detailed GRAPHICS. I wouldn't want to OC my card though unless there are no other options....
>Intel i5-750
>2gb x 2 sticks of kingmax ddr3 1300RAM
>Sapphire HD 5830 1Gb DDR5 Modern Warfare Edition
>500W AcBel PSU
>1TB WD Caviar Black High Performance HDD
>ASUS P7P55D-E motherboard
>CM Centruion 5II Case
>20" 60hz Samsung SyncMaster B2030 Eco LCD Monitor
>Labtec 2.1 stereo speakers

Metro 2033 is one of the most graphic intensive games out there, and in the most powerful systems can only just cope with everything set to the highest,

I have SLI 470's with an overclocked i7 930 and still i get lag here and there, at highest settings @ 1920x1080 res.

i maxed out everything, it's just a bit lag though and un-smooth.My CPU's running on stock (2.66GHz) but im using a stock Intel Cooler so i won't be OCing the CPU.

This is the game which has got me seriously considering adding another GTX470 to my system.. I will not be defeated :non: :bounce:

Well, if you want to seriously gaming then save some money, get an aftermarket cooler like CoolerMaster Hyper 212+ or better and OC your CPU, after that get a better PSU, last upgrade your card to HD6870 or GTX580.
I'm pretty sure you can maxed out everything at 1600 x 900 with high framerate.

That's just an advice, buddy. :)

The wrong way of OCing can result damaging components (overheat).
OC is a quiet easy and fun, the main concern here is HEAT and STABILITY, just make sure it doesn't overheat (above 60'C). You can even OC with stock cooler.
Just try raising the frequency a little by little, after that monitor the temps...

I think you can max out that game with your PC at 1024x768 resolution :).
The best way to get more fps is wa1's advice. Or buy a better video card and overclock your CPU to 3ghz. That's kind of the sweet spot for most games.

If you do it right, you won't damage anything. My CPU is at 3.4 from 2.66Ghz and i am getting close to 2 years with that speed.

Are you running on stock coolers?

One more thing.... what is the recommended temp for CPU and GPUs

No, i could run on stock cooler for the CPU at that speed but i decided to buy a arctic freezer 7 cooler for the CPU. It keeps the temperatures down.
On the video card is 5770 sapphire vapor-x and it has a different cooler then the stock model.

You won't get 10fps buy overclocking the card in all parts of the game. I got from 3 to 12 fps in different games when i overclocked my video card. The CPU is like this since before i got this card.

Use fraps witch has a option to record your fps in games. You can check that at stock speed an after that do the same run on OC'ed speeds and see the differences.

Also metro 2033 is the worst optimized game..in some areas fps drop so low with no reason.

If you really want a much better performance you should consider buying a new video card something like the gtx470 or above.

Temps. CPU check the max temp on intel site for your CPU. My core 2 duo hits max 60-65 in the summer(30C + ambient) and ~55-60 at 20C ambient but that's after stressing the CPU and GPU for a couple of ores at max. The video card i get about 70-75C at max at full load. Usually now it stays around 65-70. If i use custom fan settings from catalyst i can keep it at 63-65 even in the summer at 70-75% fan speed.

You can try to rise the CPU to 3Ghz. That's where you usually get the best performance in most games. I recommend you search on how to do it properly if you have not done it before so that you will not damage anything. The stock cooler should be enough even at that speed. There are articles here on toms site on how to do that.

Well for all your complaints you do have a rather nice system except for the ram, 2GB isn't much as it used to be and it is fairly cheap to go for 4gb total. Your 5830 is a ok card in it's own right while the cpu needs some overclocking which do you have a margin of at least 200mhz or so if the temps aren't pushing 70c. Every one basically nailed the cpu as the best band aid solution. If nothing helps beyond that then you always give a second 5830 or a cheap 5850 in crossfire with your existing card a try. If you are just to broke like I am right now then maybe spend some time looking into a dedicated card (I know I know trolls) but it won't be a boost in most games except for a rare few like this.

well correct me if i'm wrong but i stated there 2 sticks of a 2gb ram....... 😉
