Mic Not Appearing in Devices

Hi peeps,
I built a computer a few months ago and i recently got my self a mic around December. I've been using the mic plugged into my motherboards i/o port since then, but a couple of days ago, I restarted my computer and now the mic does not work. I checked the devices list and it no longer appears as an option to choose as the default. What should I do. My build list is on my TH account. Any help troubleshooting and fixing is much appreciated.

It is a v Moda boom pro mic that I use with my v Moda m100s. It goes in the jack and is not USB
I use a splitter on the cable.

You've ruled out the splitter?
Do you have a front jack (or rear if you're using front) you can try?
Have you tried mic on another device if possible?

The splitter is a v Moda one, but it's the second one cause the first one stopped working. I'll order a good splitter from Amazon and report back in a couple of days.
