Question Mic not getting picked up by PC.

I've had this problem for a while now. My mic works perfectly fine on my laptop and other devices (hyperx cloud headset microphone) but for whatever reason my mic doesn't pick up my voice on my PC. If I go to sound settings there's a tick (mic on the black front jack) and says it's working, but it never actually picks up any sound. I got it to work yesterday and then I joined a Fortnite game, and suddenly the sound stops working and so does the mic. I've tried everything, I don't know what to do... By the way I use 2 jacks, (1 for the headset and 1 for the mic).
My mic is not muted or low volume, and it is turned on.

i dont know if this fix will suit you its a patch rather than a fix. i have a usb sound card, bought it because of this exact thing. its a usb block with 2 jacks in it and rudimentary volume control. it works find for me its just overrides your existing sound card.
