Microphone stops working with every restart?

I just got a new motherboard (Gigabyte GA-z97X-GAMING 3) along with a new processor (i7-4790k) and everytime I restart my computer and try to use Skype, my microphone, which is in the front (and I tried the back) pink audio in slot, won't work. I played around with the Realtek audio program a lot and can't find any fix for it. It's not my Skype either, I have tested with the Windows audio.

The only way to fix it is to reinstall the driver, and then restart my computer but then after turning it off and on again, the problem comes back.
Anyone ever have a similar problem??

I would say failing ports, because that's very common, but the workaround is rather strange, and points to a software problem.

Poke your nose around in your motherboard's BIOS and see if there are any settings regarding audio. I would be surprised if there were, but it's worth looking.
