Microphones not working on PC

Hi all, not sure if this is the correct forum to post this on but recently my computer has been f**king up. I am using HyperX C2's and everything was working perfect until a couple of days ago. My mic just stopped picking up, I didn't change anything and I dont know why. At first I thought it was broken because I spent hours and nothing worked, but they work fine on my mac. I also tried another headset, it worked for about 10 mins then also stopped. So I think its my PC. Any suggestions???

EDIT: The only mic that works is my webcam mic...

Hi,

Please do try to uninstall/reinstall the sound card driver that's causing the problem.
- Go to Device Manager and uninstall the sound card driver.
- Reboot your PC and it should reinstall the driver automatically.
- After the reboot make sure to set your default microphone.
- Right click on the speaker icon and select Recording Devices.
- Right click again on the HyperX mic and select Set Default then click Apply and OK.
- Do test your mic again after all these changes.
