[citation][nom]joytech22[/nom]I want realistic crashes too.. Not some of that crap where the plane hits the ground and stops dead on first contact with anything with a "CRASH" in red writing.I mean it's 2011 right now, computers can handle the physics needed to simulate it.So why not?[/citation]
The reason they did that is to discourage players from deliberately running into things. It's a flight simulator, not a crash simulator. I think I read them saying it like that sometime ago. But I definitely agree with you, I want fiery crashes XD

Since my father-in-law is an avid "flyer" with the previous iterations of MS FS, I have signed up for this in preparation for the million "how to" questions I will get when this gets released. Looking forward to seeing where this evolves.

[citation][nom]spectrablue[/nom]What makes MSFT think they will be able to compete with Austin Meyer?[/citation]
I'm neither an MSFS nor an X-Plane fanboy. I've tried both, and somehow I found X-Plane to be a lot less user-friendly. While FSX has a simple, easy-to-understand menu interface, X-Plane's menus are just @.@. Or is it just me? They need tutorial flight missions too, like FSX's.

[citation][nom]joytech22[/nom]"Program is not open for self nomination."Well then.. HOW THE HELL do they expect people to register for the BETA?[/citation]

That is an error message I've seen before on MS surveys. You may have noticed the text below it had instructions to submit a help ticket. Without doing so there no way to register. They need to know there is a problem.

[citation][nom]Ragnar-Kon[/nom]Not gonna lie those are some pretty high recommended requirements. Exciting.[/citation]

I'm pretty sure that those are just so that they can test with great HW. I doubt it'll be the final recommended hardware list though.

So MS is doing allso dx9 version... Pity. It would have been nice to see real DX11 game... instead of dx9 + some dx11 features. Well... maybe the next version...
Well ofcource I can understand that it is important to have as many customers as possible, but when we are going to move on? There will not be console version of this game? So would it have been better to look forward?
Otherwise it is nice to see Flightsimulator back!

[citation][nom]LuckyDucky7[/nom]Wait.So that means that even if you have a copy you can't tell people how cool it is?That seems kind of counter-intuitive, don't you think?[/citation]
It's a closed beta you are there to do bug and error checking, that is what this is for, this is not the open beta which allows people to talk about it. The program most likely has a lot of bugs and they want people to test it and find the bugs so they can get fixed BEFORE they allow the general public to get to it and start talking about it. The general public tends to not always understand what betas are for and will start putting down a program or game in beta cause of errors they are supposed to be finding and reporting.

Ditto...

I actually HAVE the great hardware to do the test. I didn't get into the last two general betas due to having TOO MUCH hardware for an 'average' experience... Go figure... But now their own software is blocking the path... Go figure; it is Microsoft after all...
