My DOS box used to boot faster than 15 sec, had a lot of software loaded on it and needless to say had very low hardware specs.
The all-costs userfriendliness poisoned last 20 years of development, and this is what us got: now booting times comparable to 20 years ago (IF you have good hardware, IF you have a few software installed...) seem an innovative thing.

He was very right the man who said: make something even an idiot can use, and only an idiot would use it!
