I already pre-ordered my PS4. Microsloth may be getting better at reversing their bad decisions, but I would be more comfortable if they could stop those bad decisions from happening in the first place. After seeing the mess that is Windows 8, who knows what horrors their new console will be hiding.

The funny thing about Sony's successful e3 was that all they had to do is tell their core audience what they were'nt going to do (drm checks etc...) that was the most memorable portion of their press conference, the audience reaction was incredible. If nothing else it highlighted for MS the importance of customer satisfaction.

There was nothing else to complain about. When I ask around what negative effect a lacking of 2GB of RAM would have, nobody can answer straight. In the first place, so many games will be released on both consoles at launch and looks like they both work.

Leeching from the games industry? No cheaper games? What the hell is wrong with you? You a MS executive or something? The industry has existed and survived with second hand games for a long time and will do so this generation of console and probably the next. AAA games will continue to be produced with or without a second hand industry. And your claim that games wont be cheaper with a second hand industry is just plain silly, if I can pick up a second hand game for $10 then thats cheap, your logic is fuzzy if ya cant see that? Save your bad rants for somewhere else.

But see not everything is dictated at launch. The consoles selling power showcases by the 2nd holiday season because by then you have a good idea of how many units are sold and games sold as well.

Ok, do they not get it , 1 time setup. If you don't have an internet connection, you don't have an internet connection. Whether it's 1 time, or 1000 times.

But see there lies the problem as well the PS3 sold for more money and didn't sell at the same level as the xbox. Also, xbox was more simple and the draw to blu rays was still not quite as it is now. Sony did a good job here by providing a great product in theory and a cheaper price tag. Selling more consoles and having it reflect within the first 2 holiday seasons will really show where consoles are at. Wii was selling really well but dropped like a rock after a while.

these are pretty significant, meaningful changes. i'm not sure it will convince me to change my mind (ultimately the deciding factor will be how badly i miss halo), but i'm glad they didn't give us some meaningless bullshit changes and try to pretend they're doing us a favor.

^This to. However, I have a feeling there console probably is to far along to not require the initial setup. What I would do if I was gamestop or target would be to offer initial setup at there locations so you didn't need internet for a fee.

Now all they have to do is make the kinect optional, make the console more powerful than the PS4 or cut the price to have an even better shot at not utterly failing.

Well at least they got their heads out of their butts....

But its too little too late. I still wont touch the xbox on, id be too scared of them changing their minds again and turning their DRM back on after people buy the thing.

.......

Now....microsoft....about the start button, and disabling metro permanently.....id consider touching windows 8 if you would get your heads out of your arses on this one...

So Micro$$$$oft will make the positive changes that will supposedly change gamers minds to buy the Xbox1? Then on day one people who buy the Xbox1 find other hidden charges that will just keep everyone pissed off at the company for thinking about the $$$$ before the consumers. You lost the trust in many people M$. Continue to enjoy your negative publicity money greedy M$.

It's good that Microsoft realised that Sony was going to eat their lunch if they stuck to the crazy always-connected policy.
On the other hand,it's a crying shame that Microsoft ignored the pre-Windows 8 concerns. The difference here is, despite various iMacs and greatly improved Linux desktop distros, Microsoft still has a near Monopoly on PC's and Laptops. Adding the Start button back is meaningless if the Start menu does not come with it.

I kinda liked the way I could share my games under the Xbox One share plan, MS was trying to be different and change the way we share and trade digital content. I think the latest decision is a step backwards, eventually discs will be phased out

The thing is PS3 has like 3-4 games that are awesome Xbox1 has like 10! $100 is not a big deal considering the Xbox is offering more than just gaming. Of course each has a dedicated fanbase, more services and features will be announced in the future.
