Personally, I have heard enough Windows 8 hate belly aching. This is a capitalist society. No one is forcing you to buy it. So please give us all a break and just shut up already.
The real reason you all are screaming so hard is that you know that no matter what, Windows 8 will be on enough PCs to alter the course of computing. You are all hitting the boards as hard as you can to see if you can actually change this. Sorry, but for every one of you out there complaining, someone else has moved on. Personally, I know several people afraid to try it, so be happy you have had some success. The problem is I also know of at least 4 people who have adjusted to itand like it. What I dont have any personal experience with is of someone trying it and giving up on it. Yes, there are some things I dont like. Organizing Metro can be a real pain. And I had to get used to location of things which still have me scratching my head. But now I know and it all works fine. I dont have a touch screen and I have learned a lot of shortcuts that I would not have known otherwise. Having done so, I am far better at knowing then any of you complainers that this really is a good OS that is at the worst of times as efficient as Windows 7, and at the best of times just puts everything else to shame.
I could go through all you complaints ad nauseum, I have done it on countless occasions. I can not tell you to like it, because like is an opinion, but what I can tell you is that all the "reasons" given to not like it just dont stack up.
I personally cant stand Windows XP any more. That stupid blue and green start bar to me is absolutely ugly. If I never have to see it again, thank goodness. This is an opinion I had originally, but I got used to it. Now that all the redeeming qualities have been stripped away and surplanted by later OSs, my dislike of the look has returned and seeing it reminds me of just how crappy slow the whole OS is.
I guess some of you may have a similar reaction to Window Metro. The look may remind you of just how confusing it feels to use. But like with my aclimation to Windows XP. Getting used to it may be worth it. 8 years from now, I may be working on Windows 11 and see an old Windows 8 machine with Metro and think, crap, glad I dont have to manually organize those darn tiles any more. But for now, the those of us who truly know it and didnt get turned off immediately can see really how much of a step up from Windows 7 it truly is. After all, as much as I hate Windows XP now, the thought of going back to Window 98 would send shivers down my spine.
