Talk about hive minded thinking. Windows 8 is only bad if you cant understand what the hell your doing. Its a very simple concept. Start comp, enter pw, START screen appears (metro), and oh look I can customize what apps/programs I want to see in the start screen. Oh and I can even go to the desktop and stay there as long as I like. People don't even want to try anymore. Pure laziness... good for you MS for doing something different.

If you can't get your head around Metro and/or not understand why it's really not that much different a concept from the current windows 7 start menu (not to mention infinitely more useful), you really can't claim to be a technology or computer enthusiast. Luddites cower in the dark and complain about change, the rest of us take the 5 minutes necessary to learn new ways of doing things and enjoy the benefits.

I'm willing to bet that 95% of the people who come here saying how terrible Windows 8 is don't even use it, or tried it for 5 minutes on a virtual machine (Incidentally, I bet they're also the same people who constantly decry Vista, when those of us who know how to maintain a machine properly used it for years on multiple machines without a single issue). I've been using W8 as my main OS since the developer preview and I have a hard time going back to Windows 7 because of how slow and bulky it appears in comparison.

I know the general consensus is that trashing things on the internet is awesome, but next year, once hundreds of thousands of normal people are using Windows 8 like it was second nature, you're all gonna look a bit silly for no good reason. Constructive criticism is great, what you cretins do here every day is just idiocy looking for an audience.

I think Win 8 might be the first OS to seriously KILL PC sales... just looking at previews makes me want to buy extra copies of Win 7 just in case I get a new PC.

DO NOT WANT!

Unless Windows 8 is completely different from the Customer Preview version, then I may consider an upgrade from Win7. Well, I tried it out yesterday and immediately hate it. Even shutting down the PC is a pain in the ass. Boot and shut down time wasn't any faster on my SSD system. Putting Win7 back tonight.

There's 1 thing I keep wondering the whole time trying out Win8 is that why MS would do something like this? Are they trying to take themselves out of the market or have all their employees turned into idiots?

I'm sure it sucks on any mobile device as well cause I have a touchscreen monitor.

Damn you Microslob.

I also used to feel as though I needed to buy a spare copy of Win 7 Pro for my next desktop build...but, god help me, I think I'm actually starting to like what I'm seeing with the Metro interface. o_O Or, at least, you know, I don't think I hate it.

I like Aero. I don't think it's cheesy; I like the look of it, the translucent glistening windows (I mean, it's Windows; what better visual metaphor than glass)...but am I really going to miss it if they go for that more "authentically digital" look? No, I'm probably not. Will I feel the need to update my desktop, or my current laptop? I doubt it...but if I do a new build, Windows 8 will probably be just fine by me.

You think because you tried it out for a couple hours you hve the ability to write a viable comment on the operating system? You're out of your mind. You didn't even give it an honest shot. Did you use it exclusively for a couple weeks? NOPE. Did you put all the same programs on it...NOPE. Did you even respond to your own failed experiment in a mature way...NOPE?

Win8 is so easy a child can use it. But apparently not childish adults.

All you Win8 haters....STOP!!!! Stop right now. Becuase you do not PREFER the operating system you write that it sucks. The operating system doesn't suck, you just don't like it. That is 2 totally different things. So knock off your crap and write a mature comment for a change. 5 year olds articulate better than you do.

BTW Win8 doesn't suck. As a matter of FACT, it is better than Win7 in almost everyway! Do you know the difference between taste and practicality?????
