Microsoft Convinces Googlers to Switch to Bing

It's funny how people love Google blindly and don't see that Google is just as evil as Microsoft in many ways.

Oh well, we were brainwashed from younger days to use Google only. I understand, people.

but too bad the world doesn't work in perfect proportions. you CAN'T generalize the population with 15 people, you just can't. if this study was done with 1500 people, that would be more believable. this is just an attempt to get a number like "70% of people switched over to bing"

now if only 10 people out of 1500 switched over to bing... then what?

Bing is ok but to me google is still more accurate, the first 3 results are usually the site i'm after.

Let's be fair - let's try simple image search with keyword "porn" or "sex" (just a common search). And what we get? From my point of view, bing.com gave better results (closer related to search keyword).
Let's try something else - "apple" (let's say I am looking for an actual apple) - google results (7 out of 21 first images), bing.com (~10 actual apple picture/ out of first 21 pictures). And at this point, google pointed (14/21 as MAC product), bing (8/21 as MAC pictures).

I am a google user (because of fast UI), but I simply cannot say that bing.com is not worth a try and based on my simple "research", I'll try bing.com more for daily searches.

Everyone saying Google is as evil misses an important point. Google doesn't control the operating system and software markets like Microsoft. It makes them less dangerous than a Microsoft that had that AND controlled the search market.

Luckily, their browsers are horrible and are losing market share. That's another area Microsoft owned. I like Opera, and don't mind Firefox, but Internet Explorer is very irritating to me. I guess their losing market share in this indicates it is to other people as well.

I'm sure Bing use will increase. It's the default for IE now. As General Motors used to say "Keep your GM all GM." Microsoft has taken that to heart, but made it nearly impossible to compete by owning bottom-up products. OS, Applications, Web Services.
The only thing that they don't do is hardware. God knows they've tried... and failed miserably each time, so they just "define" what needs to be in a PC. It's obvious that they don't have decent hardware people (I won't talk about software here) who know what they're talking about, just from the specifications and "standards" that they come up with.
I still think that they should have been broken up into at least 3 independent companies - OS, Applications, and Services. Their monopolistic practices don't help the industry move forward, but just bog it down.

Ten repentant microsoft employees decided to switch to Bing while the other five ex-Microsoft employees decided to stick it out with Google. Bingo! Either bing with us or go elsewhere.

Although it is up to the user what search engine to use, Microsoft ways to make them use are questionable. So, I want another company to grow. One that enforces good software and helps the software world grows, whilst it is their final economic activity or not. Microsoft only helps themselves.

I sorta want to switch to a different search engine just to be different than the masses who have caught on to googling and made it a household phrase... but i dont want to sacrifice any functionality.

I'll give it a go, but not because of M$ tooting their own horn here.

I'm really sick of microsoft trying so hard to become the most popular search provider. I mean its not even subtle, they are really reallygoing out of their way to promote bing. why do i use google?
go to both and type in cytosine and click on "Images"
of course I should be using scifinder for that sort of stuff, but c'mon, how does Pokemon show up on bing?

Bing has become my 2nd engine, right after Google. Google still provides more relevant responses more often. However, the shopping, and travel information, as well as answers to worded questions, seem to be more easily found on bing than google.
