I'm sure Bing use will increase. It's the default for IE now. As General Motors used to say "Keep your GM all GM." Microsoft has taken that to heart, but made it nearly impossible to compete by owning bottom-up products. OS, Applications, Web Services.
The only thing that they don't do is hardware. God knows they've tried... and failed miserably each time, so they just "define" what needs to be in a PC. It's obvious that they don't have decent hardware people (I won't talk about software here) who know what they're talking about, just from the specifications and "standards" that they come up with.
I still think that they should have been broken up into at least 3 independent companies - OS, Applications, and Services. Their monopolistic practices don't help the industry move forward, but just bog it down.
