I am trying to install this set but when I get to the
step to get into the Bluetooth device icon in Control
panel it is not present. I have also tried to bypass the
icon by typing in the run command: bthprops.cpl which is
the Control panel extension. I have also located this
extension and tried to open it from its property menu
list. How can I get this to work?

Try doing this. Uninstall all of the software and unplug the dongle.
Now install the Intelli... Software Version 5.2 from MS's site, then
plug the dongle in, and it should install the BT Wizard in the Control
Panel for you at that point (Note: The BT Wizard in the Control Panel
will only appear for XP with Service Pack 2).

Go to www.microsoft.com/hardware and grab the 5.2 software 😉
