[citation][nom]thearm[/nom]You mean the tasteless one-sides smears from the media as a whole? I agree.[/citation]

Yeah.. Most people don't see the political leanings of their favorite media outlet since it usually matches their own, and doesn't offend them. Especially these days it is so easy to prove everyone has a bias. Remember folks, do you homework to get the real story...

And the loss is....?

I don't think most people who watch Fox"News" even knows how to use a computer, much less read. So, MS pays to help black out Fox.... sounds funny.

Note: MS is a partner to MSNBC, so that makes it funnier and stranger.

Well:
1) I don't SEARCH for news, I go TO the news site and read it, or check my RSS feeds. Google/Bing have little to do with that.
2) if you de-list from google, i won't find you, thus won;t know about you if you are not already one of the news resources i utilize. You loose my revenue.
3) I do everything in my power to avoid providing any revenue to microsoft. That includes advertising revenue.

delist all you want from Google. It's just gonna get Microsoft sued for asking you to do so, and then you'll be able to keep that cash and re-list on goole soon enough. in the meantime, if i want to find you, I still can... I'm tempted to contact M$ and tell them I'll delist too.

Better not have these, and a wired house ...after having sex with your wife, you find that you've sent three faxes to Bulgaria, ordered from Walmart, sent an e-mail to your buddy fred, realized you don't in fact know anyone named Fred, and started the coffee maker!

Every single time you use your "free" Chrome they learn something about you.

ya and every time you use IE MS gets info about you. Kinda a damned if you do damned if you don't situation. At least chrome is secure was rated as the hardest browser to crack last year.

This is all legal, and does not fringe into anti-trust acts.
Reason: News Corp has the decision in the end, and Microsoft is not offering any negative results for denying the offer. If Microsoft had said "Leave google or forever be banished from Bing" then that can be considered to be breaching the anti-trust act.
Like said before, New Corp out of Google=win. One of the more known sub companies of News Corp is Fox Broadcasting company as well as FX, their other more well known broadcasting companies may be the National Geographic channel.

The by far most popular networking site, and little to be known as a sub company is Myspace.com who is owned by Fox Interactive Media, owned by News Corporation.

Ugh, you know what I am sick of? People not adding anything to the conversation saying "Microsoft/apple/whatever sucks" Seriously, grow up people. You know what I want? I want to read comments that are articulate and well thought out, with a point. (hint: msft/apple/whatever sucks is not contributing to the discussion) Nobody wants to dredge through all the bs to get to the comments that actually introduce an idea. I know I'll probably get flamed for this, so may as well start now...

Dude it happens - sounds like an interesting story though 😉

[citation][nom]sstym[/nom]If news publisher content was available for free on another search engine, I might have to switch to that engine because the internet is my primary news source. I wouldn't be too happy about it (not because I like Google, I just don't like the principle of paying for news), and if other reliable news sources were still available on my primary search engine, I might switch to another news source instead. On the other hand, we're talking about News Corp here, not real news. Still, it's probably the harbinger of a new trend.[/citation]

I guess CNN & PMSNBC are real news providers!!

If Microsoft paid any organization not to be a part of Googles network I would not only still continue to use Google, but I would also discount the companies that joined Microsoft because they were paid too.

[citation][nom]jcknouse[/nom]why would i go with a bloated search like bing? have to get a .net passport/live account? Google does me well. i don't have to install/sign-up for anything.MS is scared, therefore they offer bribes.[/citation]
.... what? i mean, i like google over bing too but you dont need to sign up for anything to use bing.

The Only People Who Watch FOX... Are Ex-Patriots any way. Screw them, and Rupert Murdoch. But once again, MicroSoft proves once again that if you can not beat them, "BUY THEM OUT". I see this as a BIG win for Google. There will be less trash and lies to sift through while using "Google", the best search engine on the planet.

If your offering in the market is a sad 3rd place, bribery and/or exclusivity deals always helps. That's the way they do business in Redmond; have done for years.

Ok so i've gave bing a chance... and uggh. I might as well be searching with Altavista than with Bing. Heck i even place yahoo search over bing. but no worries, MS has money to burn.
