I've been running windows 7 on my machine for 3 weeks as my main os. Its a lot snappier than vista, which is saying something since I have a phenom 9750 and 8gb ram so vista is pretty snappy.
Driver support is excellent for a beta (heck its better than full os' I've had in the past). The new preview features on the task bar are excellent especially when you have upwards of 10 windows open (IM notification in particular).

My only gripe is they still haven't put extra taskbars in for secondary/tertiary displays and they've gotten rid of the vista networking icon from the task tray.

[citation][nom]ByDesign[/nom]I'm no Linux fan but it's just as easy as windows to learn. I'll go a step further in that Ubuntu is more intuitive than Windows 7 with more useful utilities and apps out of the box. It doesn’t game so well so it’s rather useless to me personally.I’m still in awe of this Windows 7 love though. To me it’s just Vista with a new UI and some services disable or rearranged. I liked Vista and Windows 7 is a very subtle improvement. The main difference is driver support is there, thank to time and Vista.[/citation]more utilities out of the box ? well try including something in Windows and EU will jump on them for breaking antitrust bla bla , microsoft is blocked into including something much more in their OS because of idiots.

[citation][nom]aracheb[/nom]you are very wrong, actually windows xp runs better than windows 2000 in a machine with the same spec. and of course, runs better than vista..[/citation]
Windows XP and 2000 are both NT 5. XP is just an improved version of 2000, with a new GUI

So big surprise. Vista and 7 are both NT 6.

To me it just looks like they have a least incorporated some mac aspects. I will have to see what the rest of it looks like when it is actually released
