"It needs an SSD. lulz."
"Why is it so expensive? Get a PS4 Pro instead it's cheaper. lulz."
^^^ Examples of why you can never please people on the internet no matter what you do.
foogoo :
Don't need ITB. 128 GB ssd would be fine.
128GB... yeah how many installs of the latest Doom is that, again? Trollolololol
Corey Carroz :
HDD need to die. PS4 has some crazy long load times... Some games feel like up to 2 minutes. Add bigger Textures and 4 more GB of RAM....
..... those load times could grow up to 50%.... I would be happy with a 256 GB SSD option then could use a external drive for anything else that I want to put on there.
Funny you should mention 50% load time...

"The second one is that we've that we've improved the hard disk speed," Goossen adds. "We're actually promising developers a 50 per cent improvement in overall bandwidth for the purposes of driving 4K textures, but this also helps us in this situation where you're running existing Xbox One and Xbox 360 titles. They will also benefit from the faster hard disk."
Also, most average gamers would be pissed if their new console installed 2 new games and ran out of space. 256GB is not enough. I would like to see them release higher-end models with an SSD or large SSD cache, but in general I don't fault them for going with a 1TB+ HDD for large game installs. As mentioned, the HDD is considerably faster than before. If you want more speed, plug in an external SSD and stick games on that.
