Attempting to migrate my OS drive from my 500GB Samsung EVO SATA SSD to my brand new 1TB Samsung PRO NVMe SSD.
There are a million tutorials for this out there and from what I can tell, I did everything correctly:
  • Installed the M.2 drive
  • initialized it to MBR (just like the EVO)
  • ran Samsung Data Migration (successfully)
  • shut down
  • disconnect old drive
  • set boot priority to the new SSD and start up
Now I'm getting the sad, blue windows screen saying "inaccessible boot device". I've toggled some BIOS settings like CSM and secure boot control but I'm still getting the Windows error. Is there something I should do in Windows first before attempting to boot from my new drive? Thanks!

You can do it all from the installer, click the Drive Options link on the Where to install screen and you will have the option to delete partitions.

Be sure to have the motherbd in the appropriate configuration for NVME booting first.
Bios in Uefi mode, CSM disabled, M2 to pcie x4 mode (this may be a pcie slot setting in your bios)
