My son currently has a dell optiplex gx620 which runs minecraft at 7 fps. Really poor I know so looking to build a budget pc to make the gaming a bit better

Any feedback would be appreciated on the following build cos I'm a major noob at this stuff!

M/b - asrock fm2a75 pro 4
Cpu - amd a4 5300 igpu
Memory - corsair 4gb 1600mhz
O/s - windows 7 home 64 bit

Well you're going to need a bit more for that. You need a power supply, a case, storage, and if you don't already have one, a monitor. Now while you can use the cpu's integrated graphics, i'd recommend a cheap video card. If possible I'd like to know your budget.

Psu - 430w corsair
Storage - undecided between 1tb wd hdd or 64gb san disk ssd
Case - undecided but hoping about £30

Appreciate your reply mate, any ideas on a low cost graphics card?

I can easily say 1tb hard drive all the way. It is much more worth it. As for the case, try the Corsair 200R for 35 euros. The graphics card I chose was the Asus 650 Ti Boost for about 110 euro. If you need me to adjust these, please tell me.

Cool ill go with the 1tb hdd. I'll have a look at the case too.

I'm on a tight budget as its been a last minute decision to do this before Xmas so got between £300 - £350 but that's for the full build. The graphics card might be out of my price range I think.

Cheers again for the advice!

A graphics card will be the first thing I upgrade after the year but was hoping to live off the igpu to begin with? It's literally to improve minecraft up from 7fps and to watch YouTube videos for now.

You can definitely run minecraft off igpu, however keep in mind you'll probably want to change the graphics quality to make minecraft run faster. Just realize that when you do upgrade to gpu, the difference IS noticeable! :)

Thanks for your help with this - appreciated
