Hey all, whilst moving my hardware to a new case I somehow managed to nick the corner of a wire on my GPU that was sticking out and have exposed a very small portion of the wire. (Honestly don't know how) From what I can see in the schematics of the GPU (EVGA 1080 FTW) it's the LED connector cable for the cooler. It's on the brown wire, the other three being black. I'm sure it's nothing to worry about outside of the LEDs possibly not working but just to be safe. Anyone know if there is a chance of fire from this? I'm unsure if the amount of power those cables are using are even enough to cause a fire or not but better safe than sorry. Any input is appreciated!

It wont just burst into flames on it's own, but if it touches some metal it could. Or if it touches any conductive part of any component you'll let out the magic smoke and brick at least something or worst case everything.

If you can put a few wraps of electrical tape around it that will be enough to not worry about it. There is also a liquid tape product which is basically a rubber compound that would work if you can't wrap it.
