Page 20 in the A7M266 manual v1.02:
re: VIO & VIO1 jumpers -

The picture illustrated in the manual shows both jumpers in the top position i.e pin 1-2 in the picture.

My problem is that the 2 mobo's I've received have both had these jumpers set on pin 3-4 by default. That is, pin 3-4 as per the manual picture.

The pin numbers are not printed on the board so I can't tell if it's a manual misprint or an assembly line mistake regarding jumper placement.
It appears that the current batch of A7M266's here in oz are all set this way.

So, my question is:
Is the manual wrong or are the jumpers set wrong, and how the hell can I be sure?

Bump

Come on guys and gal's!!!!!
Surely someone has some clue as to whats going on with this?
No?
Ah, well.

I would be interested in the answer to your question.

To further complicate matters VIO1 which sets the voltage for DDR DIMMs has a default setting of 2.7V which is close to being out of spec. My DDR (Samsung M368L3313BT1-CB0 256MB) is rated at 2.5V +/- 0.2V.

I have read (although NOT in the Asus A7M266 manual) that VIO1 can be set to 2.5V by removing the jumper altogether.

Is there some way to actually see what VIO &/or VIO1 voltage I am running?
Neither the BIOS nor the Asus Probe program show them, but is there some other way to check them?

You could post a question ASUS support and pray for an answer... I did, and obviously me praiers were heard... :)

Here's the correspondance:

Asus probe (V2.12.06) in the monitor summary screen and the voltage monitor screen display a +3.3V level which I believe is VIO.

In order to get a more comprehensive display of voltages: VCORE 1.75 (set by VID 1:4), DDR 2.5 (set by VIO1), clock voltage 3.3 (set by VIO), and +5, +12, -5, -12 I use SiSoft Sandra 2001 or Motherboard monitor (MBM V5.05) which can be downloaded free from:

Hope this is of some use to you.

I agree the Asus manual on the web should be updated more frequently to reflect known errors/omissions.
