Oh, and the +1 strength, too. But other than that, OK.

he.... i know i started one ´cause i checked it as soon as it was
posted ans there was no thread about him yet.... probably other people
did just the same. since the 4 threads appeared almost together, i
believe that´s the case....

nah.. if it was about the grouping rule it would be a rules update, not
a new rule.... it´ll probably be something about non-gehenna
events...or something completely different, but i don´t think it´ll
be about grouping.

Annis and Mitru are both solid Vampires when it comes to their
disciplines and specialties. Mitru, being one of the npc characters I
kind of liked in Transylvanian Chronicles, is pretty nice altogether,
from Disciplines to the picture. Of course, if you complain him to
Miller, without the +1 str Mitru will just never be as good as Miller in
what Miller does best - and I guess that's what most are muttering. He
has for for prevent, animalism for DotB and with the !Gangrel path he
plays Blur + Claws for free.

Black Annis, on the other hand is more of a rip-off. Annis, Beast.. both
!nossies, except Annis has the no-brainer protean and she's better in
rite about everything else. What I hate though, is the picture, which
reminds me mostly of bad Tales from the Crypt cover art that tried very
hard to look like B-rated camp. I'd hate dumping Beast for Annis, and
having to look at her.

When you play Beast it's like "Aaannd it'ssshh the Beaastrgghh!" With
Annis, I imagine it'll be closer to "*cough* I have this silly looking
cartoon !nossie here.."

Small gripe. Would've liked her to no end without David Day's school
grade artwork.

In general you are partly right when it comes to me. I haven't played
too much with group 4. Mostly because from my POV it would require some
heavy investment into the cards (not that I didn't buy a lot of them
already) and the options I have with group 4 just aren't worth it. Maybe
after a few more expansions when I have accumulated enough of them and
get tired of them gathering dust.

I couldn't agree more on the Black Annis art issue. But I'm one of the
few who actually like most of Christopher Shy's artwork for WW, so I
won't expect anyone to adhere to my aesthetics. We've had plenty of
different art styles on V:TES, from anime-inspired library cards to
general photoshop enhancement and pulp-book cover illustration, so I
gave up on that issue long ago. What I can expect in that regard is
that the publishers are the first ones to be desire a clear and
uniform art between expansions, but that is just not possible given
issues like artist availability, time schedule and such. That would
make me feel more resigned on the art mess that is V:TES.

If you won't mind a little suggestion... Go Anarch! :)

That's what I do to most 3/4 vamps I do have when I note that I don't
have a proper crypt available to go monoclan. Note that I'm nowhere
near completing the Camarilla set when it comes to crypt cards yet.
Going anarch serves the purpose of putting them to good use right now.
But of course, that depends on how much one is willing to be beaten up
by more focused decks until it finds some balance between anarch cards
and "normal" ones. Myself, I don't mind losing horribly 4 times if in
the fifth I can pull something threatening with anarchs in the fifth
game...

By the way, this is what bugs me most about him (and newer !Gangrel
with a similar discipine spread). I like clear-cut !Gangrel like
Wren, Darrel Boyce, Zachary, Ellen Fence, Samantha, Haakon
Mortenssen, etc. I'm not sure why !Gangrel have to end up with 5
disciplines mixed all over them. Grumble.

I must confess though, that Mitru is a borderline case. He is clearly
a City Gangrel, works fine in that capacity, and as such his extra
disciplines are not a problem at all. The problem - as I see it - are
those vampires who aren't really either City or Country (but pay for
the disciplines of both division).

So Mitru basically reminded me of the problem, but my assessment was
hasty in including him in the same basket as Harry Reese and Maria
Stone lie in.

I take mild offense at the inclusion of the word 'just' in your

Am I the only one who doesn't see Annis as Beast (Oh no, two vampires
with a rush action), but instead rather closer to Ebanezer Roush?

ANI OBF POT pro, +2 stealth weenie pred/prey rush, 8 cap.

Well, Beast was just the group 2 version of Roush, to begin with,
so there's no surprise there. 🙂
