Mixed Reviews about Thermaltake psu.

I've been reading mixed reviews about the Thermaltake TR2 600w power supply. Some people say that this psu can power a GTX 560 and some say that the quality is really poor and shouldn't be used for mid-range graphic cards and decent cpu's. Here's my specs,

Motherboard : ASRock m3A770DE
CPU : AMD Phenom II X4 955e @ 3.2 Ghz
RAM : 8GBs of DDR3 RAM
Video Card : NVIDIA Geforce GTX 560
Power Supply : Thermaltake TR-600P TR2 Series ATX Power Supply - 600W Link --> http://www.overstock.com/Electronics/Thermaltake-TR2-600NL2NC-ATX12V-EPS12V-Power-Supply/6128846/product.html (My model of my Thermaltake TR2 600w is,TR2 600NL2NC.)

I'm a little concerned if this power supply is good enough for my pc. Whenever I play games such as modern Warfare 3,Battlefield 3 or Bad Company 2 if feels as though the exhaust from the power supply is kinda hot. I can't really tell if it's too hot or if its normal. I've talked to other people who have the same or better setups than I do,and they said it performs well. Yet again,I'm not to experienced,so I'm not sure if this normal or not. If anyone could shed some light on this it would be great. Thanks in advance.

TT has 3 series of TR2 PSUs...what is the model number? In general it is an ok series but usually better PSUs for the same money. On a side note...a decent 600w psu is enough for almost any single-gpu system including yours. If your system is stable then I wouldn't worry too much...still let us know the model number so we can give you some more specific details.

Yet again,I'm still hearing mixed reviews about this psu. I know it's sufficient enough just to web-browse and listen to music,but when gaming is the main issue here. I've heard people on other forums say the output wattage is only about 400w. I have no idea which is correct.

I just had (as in 2 days ago) my TR2 600 crap out on me after only owning it a month. It was powering a GTX 560ti. It did fine until the other night, when it stated to burn up. I can still smell the burnt electronics in my office. I would look for another PS.

Alright,this is 3rd time I've heard someone say that same thing. I guess I'm ditching this psu. Can anyone recommend a good power-supply for gaming?

I took my TR2 600w back to Best Buy(I know Best Buy = JUNK, but my buddy is the manager and gives me a big discount) and paid a bit more for the Corsair GS700, which has 4-5 stars/eggs reviews everywhere vs the 2-3 the TR2 gets. Has something like 52A on the 12v rail and is 80 Bronze certified.

All three are more than sufficient to power a system with a single GeForce GTX 560 or even two GeForce GTX 560 in 2-way SLI mode.

Both of the Corsair PSUs, you've listed, are made by Seasonic for Corsair.

My tr2 powered my system for a few years before it died. I was in dire need at the time and it was the best my BestBuy had. I have no complaints and the warranty was easy enough to deal with but its still in the box as I put in my 850w when it died.

There are 2 different PSU with the exact same name yet different Models, the one that is 80 Plus is "TR-600P" while the non 80 Plus is just "TR-600".

TR-600 does not even feed the 600Watts continously, it´s more like a 430Watts minimum and 600Watts Maximum.

TR-600P does feed 600Watts as a minimum and 720Watts as maximum and is 80 Plus...

Both PSU are branded "TR-600" so you got to be carefull with the model, ThermalTake is ripping their customers while confusing them, some are getting the TR-600 thinking it´s the TR-600P.

9 month old Smart 850 died early Jan, Thermaltake does not reply to warranty support emails. AVOID.
