[SOLVED] Mixing up RAM

Hello,
I am currently thinking about buying more RAM. I currently own 2x8GB 3000MHz Corsair sticks. The reason I would want to buy other RAM is because of the RGB (I know, I know..). I also know that there are certain RAM Coolers that I can montage on my RAM sticks that would take care of the RGB (And also cool my RAM Sticks). Now I would want to ask if it is possible to buy 2 more sticks that are not the same as the current 2 I own. I'm also wondering if I can/want to buy 2x8GB again or 2x16GB, in any of the 2 cases I would definitely buy 3000MHz.

My setup now:
  • 2x8GB 3000MHz Corsair
  • No RGB

My setup later:
  • 2x8GB 3000MHz Corsair
  • 2x8GB/2x16GB 3000MHz Unknown
  • RGB

Thanks

Whenever you mix RAM there is always a possibility it won't work.
The only way to know is to try it.
Most of the time I try it (probably 80-90%), it works.

I thought that newer motherboards had something like 2x2 RAM slots, but I'm definitely not sure. Also, would it not matter if my newer 2 have different sizes than my current ones?
