It is 'faster' not due to TLC vs MLC, but rather NVMe/PCIe vs SATA III.

What motherboard is this going on?

  1. You ABSOLUTELY need more free space. That drive should never go over 190-200GB actual consumed space.
  2. Not a fan of that drive, but it will work and inexpensive.
  3. Other options - Another SATA drive will be pretty much the same speed as your current one.
  4. Now....for what to put where. I'd almost be inclined to leave the OS on the existing drive, and use the new for games and project files. There is some back and forth opinions on this type of config, and both ways have their benefits.
