As of tonight, my laptop is finally dead and I am fresh out of computers even remotely able to play games. I am a MMO gamer with no real interest in boundary pushing FPS gaming like Crysis. In particular, I currently play Guild Wars 2 and Final Fantasy 14 (if that information helps). I would like to build or buy a new machine on which I could reasonably accomplish the following goals:
1080p resolution, probably a 22-25 inch screen, 60+ FPS. For Guild Wars, I would like to be able to run on the highest settings (which I understand are not all that demanding comparatively speaking to the most intensive games). And that's really it. If I can build now and get maybe two years of HD MMO gaming, I will be happy. Don't feel the need to go for superhd and so on. With respect to doing this, I am completely new. I have always been a console gamer and am likely to remain such out side of MMOs.
Realistically, I can probably spend in the $600 range on the rig itself (monitor and other peripherals not in that number.) I do not have a use for high storage capacity (I have gamed on a 30GB windows partition for the last three years and its still not full) and am interested in moving to a SSD.
I'm looking for what ever advice I can get. When it comes to graphics cards, its all greek to me. I am not super interested in overclocking, at least not yet, as I know very little about it. I would like to be able to play at least for the next year without having to look into that.
My guess form my research so far, is that I need probably an i5 processor, a 60GB SSD, and... that's all I know. Completely helpless here.
Thanks for your help!
