Okay, so. I have my fans plugged into my motherboard. Question is... Will 3 pin connections still allow me control over the fans in some way I wouldn't normally have, or do I need 4 pin? There is only one 4 pin on the motherboard, and I have no 4 pin cables for the fans. While I'm at it, I plugged in my rear exhaust fan to pwr_fan because the rear fan only has a 3 pin female connector (no molex) and the cable is short. That's the only one I could get to. Some say it's fine. Is it? Anyways. Thanks for the help.

Solution
3 pin fans are typically controlled by voltage. Most motherboards have the fan headers use voltage control anyways, even if they are 4 pin (except the cpu fan header). So it makes no difference really.
