Would the diagram below in theory should just be plug and play or would some configuration be needed?

From some soft research it seems like the xFi XB8 should already be MoCA enabled and I wouldn't need an additional adapter by the splitter.

The presented plan treats the coax connectors of the Cable Box and the xFi XB8 as signals to be combined - not split. (Directional arrows aside.)

Splitters are one line IN and 2,3, 4 or more OUT.

On the first floor I believe you will need:

ISP === coax===> Cable box === coax ===> xFi XB8[LAN port] -----RJ45 cable -----> MoCA adapter #1 === coax ===> Coax cable port to 2nd floor === coax === > Second floor coax cable port === coax ===> MoCA adapter #2 ----RJ45 cable ---->[LAN port] PC

That said: have you tried wireless between the first floor Modem/Router (xFi XB8) and the second floor PC?

May work very well and I would try that first.
