Modem problems again, SR 71 Black Bird Plz HElp

Hello, we went through this October 2011. Sorry to be a bother. I'm old (I guess) can't remember. When I try to install the drivers you gave me last year, I get the blue error screen. WHat am I doing wrong? I go to the PCI Simple Communications and try to install there. To refresh your memory:
Driver for PCI simple communication controller for Win XP Please and I am running a HP Pavilion a1200y. Modem Ven is 14F1 Dev is 2F20. PCI Database.com returns:
Device Id Chip Description Vendor Id Vendor Name
0x2F20 SoftV92 Data Fax Modem with SmartCP 0x14F1 Conexant Systems, Inc.
Can't find a driver that works? Please and Thank You.

What happened that the modem stopped working or needs the drivers reinstalled again?

I had to restore to a previous time and lost the modem in the process

I have tried to install the /HSFp_WinXP.zip and It doesn't work. I get the blue error screen. Reboot in safe mode to remove or disable.

I thought if I simply point to the HSF drivers it would recognize the modem and install. Instead I must chose Modem from the list of hardware I want to install. I think therein lies the problem.

SR-71 Blackbird, Could please tell me the correct way to install from the device manger?

I go to Control Panel and select phone and Modem. Then I open modem to select new hardware. I point to the .inf file, in this case GENHSF5.inf but it doesn't install. I try to install with HFXsetup.com. Doesn't work?

SR-71 Blackbird , Here is where I am. The modem installed without a problem. When Fax Monitor pops up, the blue error screen comes up.

No Sir it looks good...not sure if you know the modem is in there but if I enable it then when the fax monitor starts, I get the blue error screen. It seems the modem itself is fine something in the Fax software.

Okay, I went into add remove progs and disabled Microsoft Fax Services and all is well. Maybe I should another fax program? Do I still have to enable MS Fax Service?
