the hate is only going to grow from here on in.

there is people that hate micro soft

there is people who hate epic games and certen game devs

I don't think people realise how damage is going be done and how damage is going to be done

so.... IW removes the features PC gamers are looking for... pirates go crazy becaus well... who want to play a crippled game??? i say they deserve it. if the company wants to bone its customers they can only expect to have a major loss. at least the pirated version can be hacked to support dedicated servers... that makes it much more appealing to me then what IW ploped out, not to mention the removal of consol really gurks me 🙁 that was the best way to map out keys >.< so...until IW fixes the game... i think most of the tech savie gamers will probably go for the better source, and probably boycot the purchase of the game.

I wonder how much of those pirated copies would be legitimate if they didn't cripple the PC version??? 4 million is a lot of anoyed, but curious folk :)

[citation][nom]zipzoomflyhigh[/nom]Lots of idiot comments here. The game is awesome, as good as COD4.The lack of dedicated servers makes no difference to me.Quit crying and buy it or shut your hole.[/citation]

Well, at least you got one thing right... lots of idiots post here -_-
I guess since dedicated server don't make a difference to you, they shouldn't make a difference to anyone else either.

"which a hardcore FPS player will blow through in just a couple days"

Funniest thing I've read in, well, forever! I don't consider myself a hardcore FPS player, just well experienced. Took all of 4 hours to beat the single player campaign. This game sucked, multiplayer was horrible as well. The fact that anyone liked this game is a true testament to the diminishing quality of games in recent times.

[citation][nom]Exodite3[/nom]I'm more curious to know how they judge download numbers based on BitTorrent? Due to the nature of the protocol it would all but impossible to accurately gauge which bits go where and how many complete copies of the files are distributed. Let alone actually used.[/citation]

Indeed check out the posts on a forums who deal with Pirated software the #1 complaint "Why won't this work on my Geforce MX2 video card" or some other antique piece of hardware. so while the person downloaded the game they did not actually get to play it. Then there are the other posts "How can I get this to work I burned the disk and its still asking for the disk when I run the program" I would say half the people who download something are unable to get it "working". Of course its ironic that posts on the legit forums may include some of the same complaints... (old hardware incapable of running a game is a common issue)

They got what they F?????? deserve... They spat on the face of PC users and the PC users spat on the face of Infinity Ward.

Instead of trying to make something special for the PC version online mod, they gave us 100ms PINGs... Merry Christmas!

I have bought two copies of every version of Call of Duty until this one, so my brother and I could game together in our clan's dedicated servers. So if you average $40 a game, that's over $400 we have spent on their products. Due to the way they have treated PC MP gamers, I pirated this game for the two of us, so we could play through the short single player campaign, since it wasn't worth our money to spend $120 on a game without real multiplayer support.

I am kind of happy that SF4 is no.5, it means fighting games got their place on PC. I bought the game for playing online, and I must admit the game is good online, which is something I was afraid to be a huge problem due to lag and the speed needed to pull out moves.

Gee let's see. They're charging $60 for a new game (new games used to be $50) and they pissed off a large part of their PC gaming community.

I hope to heck they aren't surprised about the numbers of folks who pirated the game.

From a fiscal standpoint, selling 4.7million copies, and having 4.1 million pirated (which is only PC community I assume) means they screwed up royally. Imagine if they could have sold even half of those 4.1 million copies that were pirated....

They probably don't care though since they've made a fortune as it is. But imagine how successful the title could have been if they'd not pissed off so many PC gamers, and asked $50 instead of $60 for the game.

I like Modern Warfare 2's multiplayer better than the first. The maps are far superior, with various avenues of attack to allow flanking instead of being bogged down. The perks and weapons are vastly improved.

I will say the lack of dedicated servers hurts the community. The matchmaking system is great half of the time, but when you try to play with friends, it can get wacky.

I signed the petition. I changed my mind after a well-respected friend bought the game and tried it out. I'm glad I purchased Modern Warfare 2.

Well I have never pirated a game, and never plan too. If I was to pirate one, this one would be it though. Not because the money, but because the treatment PC gamers have had from infinity ward.

After telling the PC gamers to stick it publically, I will just have to continue to boycott it. If I was a console gamer, I wouldn't care.

Problem is I am a PC gamer. Don't try to sell me a console game at console game prices on the PC!

It would have been relatively easy to make this a excellent PC multiplayer game.

You have alot of gal to shoot the finger at the platform FPS games were made on, and still where the best games are made~

Sounds as if you bought it for a console or have no idea why people buy and play PC games. IW totally screwed PC gamer over by excluding dedicated servers, the dev console, and jacking the price up to $60. The price I didn't care about as I could wait for it until it was one sale, but no dev console and no dedicated servers stopped me from buying the game ever. I for one am glad that 4.1 copies were pirated as I hope this will send a message to IW and all game developers to actually put the work into their games so that all platforms are equally supported.

Screw MW2!!!
I am waiting for a real game to come out..... Bad Company 2!!!
If you have not checked out Bad Company 2 please do, it looks amazing and the open beta starts in January open to all PC users. This game is being made for PC gamers (the PC version will have more content). Can't wait for it to come out.

After being a hardcore pirated software fan, I am now against it, If you take into consideration the amount of money that developers loose from pirated software there would be so many more games out there, (or higher budget games) to choose from it would be ridiculous. So I've been pitching in my money to help pay those developers so they can make me more great games

yeah like all PC fanboys try to claim, its a small percentage of PC gamers that steal games... :/ yeah 10+millino stolen games, thats pretty small
