Modified my HP prebuilt and display no longer works

Hello everyone,

I bought an HP prebuilt with an i7 and a 980Ti a while ago. I ended up taking out the i7 and 980Ti to use it in a custom build of mine. I bought a brand new i5 which I installed onto the HP prebuilt with the plan to just sell it to make some money back. It has no GPU installed.

I connected the HP to my monitor with the DVI cable and I can't seem to get the display to show up. My monitor keeps saying connection not found or something similar along the lines.

Did you make sure the CPU you got can run in that system? Check to make sure you did not dislodge something? Try reseating the CPU and RAM, check all power connections. Try resetting the BIOS to defaults. Does the computer actually turn on? Fans and power light is on?
