Modular vs non-modular

I am planning on building my first gaming pc, meaning a semi-modular psu will be helpful but not necessary. If I get the non modular psu, then I can get a R9 270 but if I get a modular psu, then I can only get a GTX 750 ti as the modular can't support the R9 270.

Don't bother getting modular if it's going to cost extra. It's a nice feature to have but ultimately it's only for the looks. Performance should always come first.

Almost all R9 270s need only one six pin PCIe cable for extra power. Almost any power supply will have one, especially modular or semi modular. Heck, my modular 450 W PSU has two and will power anything up to a GTX 980!
