Moment 4 Update New Backup App

What kind of backup is this? It seems to only do personal files, and not system files (that I understood), but only those personal files that are already stored on the cloud (OneDrive)?

I'm a bit confused. Online searches and Youtube videos didn't help. What exactly does it allow me to save and where does it store the information?

Windows 11's new Backup and Restore process just makes everything worse

Microsoft has added a new backup and restore experience to Windows 11, part of the the big fall 2023 updates. But the process still doesn't do what I want it to do.

My answer: What Microsoft wants to exactly backup and where Microsoft exactly wants to store it.

A bit cynical and facetious.

However, no matter what the backup tool is named, if the backup process does not meet your requirements then hopefully neither you nor anyone else will be forced to use it.

I do not want any dependencies on online backups for protecting my data.

My use of Online storage is only for some family related convenience. Sometimes that alone has proved problematic.

Planning for less use - not more. Especially OneDrive.
