[SOLVED] Monitor and speaker compatibility

I'm looking at an LG 32GK650F-B monitor but am concerned with the ability to attach external speakers for when I'm using the Firestick (there are no built-in speakers). The monitor has one headphone out jack which on a cursory Google search looks like it might work for external speakers, but I want to verify before I make any hasty decisions. Any foreseeable issues that anyone knows about with hooking up external speakers through the headphone out jack?

Headphone out is just a signal so ext speakers would work but will need to be amplified. Any powered PC speakers will do.
