Monitor assistance please

I’d like to get a new 27” gaming monitor and am looking at spending around £500. The worry I have is that I might be wasting my money if my PC hardware is not good enough to make best use of the new monitor’s abilities. I'm possibly thinking about a Gsync

My current PC is:
Gigabyte GeForce GTX 770 WindForce 3x OC 4096MB GDDR5
Intel Core i5-4570 3.20GHz
16GB memory

Is this set up good enough for the newer monitors and does anyone have recommendations. Or should I be thinking of getting a more powerful card?

Yes my friend has much lower PC specs than yours and his monitors run CSGO brilliantly. A good recommendation is a BenQ gaming monitors. Good price and have exceptional performance.
