Monitor Not Being Recognized

Okay so earlier today I moved my PC downstairs to hook it up to my TV so i could watch a movie. I used a VGA splitter to graphics card and the one VGA cable to my pc monitor and another to the TV. It worked perfectly. Now I've moved everything back upstairs and I accidentally placed my VGA cable into my onboard graphics card, not my normal graphics card. So I noticed it wasn't displaying anything. So I took it out of the onboard grphics card(Intel) and put it into my external graphics card. It's not displaying anything still...? And also when i turn my Windows 7 Dell computer, it turns off, and then turns it self back on after 3secs or so.

It's not that the monitor isn't receiving information from the CPU either. It DOESN'T say it has no signal.

Keyboard isn't lighting up either. Like when i click caps lock the light doesn't display.
