On May 9th, I have purchased an adapter,

Dead AC Adapter Specs:
INPUT: 200-240VAC-1.0A 50-60Hz
OUTPUT: 12v=2.6A MAX

New AC Adapter Specs:
AC Input - 100-240V, 50-60HZ,
AC Output 12V = 3.0A.

Unfortunately, my monitor worked for 1.5 smoothly, and then I started to have "power button flickering," and the display doesn't turn on for a few moments. And, the took out the DC connector, and it was hot!

I never had this problem until my old AC Adapter stopped working, and I purchased a new one.

What's the problem, and how can I solve it?

Solution
Might be a poor quality adapter.

DC adapters do get hot anyway so it's hard to say if that's normal or not.

Also, how do you know it's the adapter that's the problem? Maybe it's the main monitor unit?

They shouldn't get that hot that fast, the display wasn't even turned on for more than a minute or two, and its only 3 amps at 12v, normally that won't get hot hot, maybe a bit warm but not hot hot
