More info?)
I looked for info on the insides of a VGA monitor, but didn't find
anything (because everyone just wanted to sell one). If you were to cut
it open, you may get lucky and the colors would correspond with another
VGA Cable, but if the sound is going through the cable too, you are
gonna be out of luck. This sounds like a weird proprietary connector
that nobody has ever seen. Only chance is going to be the manufacturer.
I would just spend the money and buy a new monitor that I know is
going to work on any computer (VGA or DVI). You can get a nice 15"
LCD's (you want low ms response times) for around $250 and nice 17"
LCD's for around $300. Just have to wait for the right deal and talk to
the right people. You can usually get an extra amount off (I like to go
for 10%) at the store by haggling or price matching to online prices.
Good luck
