I just finished building my first system, but i still need to get a new monitor. Ive seen a lot of posts about different monitors, and some posts make it seem like you should get certain monitors for certain graphics cards. I have a SAPPHIRE 100259-1GL Radeon HD 4870 1GB 256-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready CrossFire Supported Video Card. If there is a certain resolution i should get please let me know. What im looking at right now is an ACER from best buy, is this known as an ok brand? Basically i want an HD monitor for as cheap as possible. One last thing, is there any certain internet card i should get or does the cheapest one work well? Thanks in advance for any help!!!

You have enough graphical grunt to run a 1920 x 1200 monitor well in games .Any resolution less than that will run games at FPS you dont need and cant see .
Many gfx cards recommended on this site are far too powerful for the monitor that will be used making them a complete waste of money .

ANYONE who says "you need a ... " gfx card but hasnt asked what monitor you will be using is not going to be giving you good advice .

Samsung , Dell and Sony make the best LCD monitors I have seen .

I was impressed with the acer 22" I got a couple years ago. There are some issues, backlight mostly, but you only notice it if you are watching movies. For the price it is a great lcd. Whatever you decide on I'd suggest at least a 22" but if you can afford it, probably a 24" to get the 1920x1200 resolution.
