I have had my Dell 27” gaming monitor (D2719HGF) for a few weeks now. I have my display port cable plugged into my GPU, a GEFORCE GTX1060 6GB, with an HDMI adapter plugged into my monitor. When I first set up the monitor, I was able to go into my NVIDEA settings and set the monitor to 1920x1080 at 144hz and then set the refresh rate to 144hz in Rainbow Six: Siege. Just today I noticed it felt like my FPS was a bit lower, so I went into my settings on Siege and noticed it was at 120hz. There was no option for 144hz, either. I quit the game and went to my NVIDEA settings only to see that the maximum refresh rate available was 120hz. I then created a custom resolution with 144hz then restarted my PC, as if it would help. I loaded up Siege and went to my settings and the maximum was still 144hz. I haven’t been able to find anything on this. Just to clarify again it DID let me use 144hz before and now it does not. Please help.

On Windows 10, head to Settings > System > Display > Advanced Display Settings > Display Adapter Properties. Click the “Monitor” tab, choose your monitor’s advertised refresh rate from the “Screen Refresh Rate” list, and click “OK”.
And do check you monitor's OSD settings and set it to 144hz.

Did all that and still nothing. So I believe it changed when I unplugged the cable and plugged it back in because the sound started coming out of the monitor. Any other ideas?
