Hey

My brother recently received a second monitor with a VGA connection on it and has a DVI-D and HDMI connector on his GPU, as well as a VGA and HDMI on his motherboard.

The VGA on his GPU is already in use by his first monitor.

How can I connect the monitor to the GPU? We just bought a DVI-I to VGA cable, but didn't realise the GPU was DVI-D. Any help would be appreciated, all this conversion and cables/connectors has me stumped.

Thanks!

replace the cable if it from a local store with a hdmi to vga or replace the cable with the right one. some vga to dvd adaptor can block signal to the monitors. they also can cost as much as a new 6 foot cable. you can also see if you can turn on the onboard ipgpu and have it on with the gpu and run the second monitor off the onboard port. unless he wants to game with two monitors.

I'm not sure VGA to HDMI is possible.
