Hi, I have bought a used 21" NEC Multisync monitor. When I hook it up, it
runs certain programs like MS Word, Solitaire etc in full color. But others,
like Powerpoint, if just shows them in black and white and that also blurred.
I could not find any driver anywhere on the Net for that monitor. Any one
having any suggestions, I will appreciate it.

Regards

My guess is, there's something wrong with the monitor. Monitor drivers,
when they exist beyond any generic monitor drivers that might be installed
by the OS do not cover the function you describe. This sounds like a
hardware issue, a problem with the monitor itself. You might try checking
for the latest drivers for your graphics card but I don't think that will
resolve this. You also might hook up a different monitor and see if it has
the problem, if not, that's a pretty good indication the monitor itself is
the source of the issue and is either dying or in some fashion out of
adjustment.

if one program is in color then the other should be in color too....
if the monitor was broken, then all the programs would look strange...

so you are not describing the problem correctly.

Not if the problem is intermittent or doesn't begin right away. Also, some
applications that appear okay on the monitor might not in fact be okay.
Perhaps some colors are showing while others are not and the ones that are
showing may be the primary colors used in the application, thus giving the
"appearance" that all is okay when it is not.
