I have an old computer running Windows ME. I recently wiped the hard drive and reinstalled Windows to get the adware and crap out of it and get the machine running as smoothly as something this old can. Everything seems fine except for problems with the sound card.
I keep getting an error upon startup that the computer cannot recognize my sound card. I've tried installing the original drivers a few times, plus a couple attempts with an updated driver a buddy sent me, but no dice. Weird thing is that when you go into the device manager, the card is recognized and doesn't show any problems, however I am getting no sound. Does anyone have any ideas? Thanks!
