More ram less heat?

Hello, i have 4gb ram ddr3 and amd a10 6700, if i put more ram the cpu will make less heat? Or should i get a watercooler.

Additional RAM does not produce enough heat to require a watercooler. It does not make your CPU run cooler.

Adding ram wil not cool the cpu and very rarely needs additional cooling.

Now it will reduce the work load put on your hard disk swapping data back forth from memory.

4GB should me than enough for general WIndows work, although 8GB is starting to become the standard amount now.

I want to play games and for an example, when i'm playing "Dragon age inquisition" the game runs smoothly 10-15mins then the fps is dropping until the cpu get's 80 celsius and auto-shutdown. Should i buy an additional 8GB ram card or a watercooler for the proccesor. The question is: The processor will take it easier with 12 gb ram and it will not overheat or a watercooler will help me (i don't have money for both). Thanks for answers!

It might be worth checking on the RAM usage after a while in game, If it is nearing the maximum usage, then this would suggest that there is a memory leak with DA and in turn it is straining your CPU to deal with the data influx, in which case..adding extra RAM would probably not help with this. The game probably needs patched, or you need to try diffferent graphics drivers to see if it changes anything.

You could try refreshing the thermal paste under your CPU cooler, as it can degrade over time, and not give sufficient heat dissipation to the heat sink. Buy some Arctic Silver 5 compound and Thermal paste cleaner to do this.

Getting 8GB for your system wouldn't be a bad idea, as it will give you plenty of headroom for gaming. I run 8GB and never have any issues unless the game/application is a very demanding one. (rare)

You should not require a water cooling loop unless you are performing high overclocking on your system. Good luck!

Start with the basics - you have an overheating problem with the CPU - what cooler do you have attached to the CPU? You don't need a Liquid Cooling loop to have decent cooling - a Noctua D14 will do pretty much the same job as most cheap 240-280mm Radiators, a Cooler Master EVO212 will do a better job than most 120mm radiators.


But seriously, get a better Heat Sink on that CPU if you're cooking it!
