Back at the start of the year I spilt a chai latte on my PC Specialist laptop - details of the laptop are:

Chassis & Display Elimina Series: 17.3" Matte Full HD 144Hz 72% NTSC LED Widescreen (1920x1080) Processor (CPU)
Intel® Core™- i7 14 Core Processor 12700H (4.7GHz Turbo) Memory (RAM) 32GB PCS PRO SODIMM DDR4 2666MHz (2 x 16GB)
Graphics Card - NVIDIA® GeForce® RTX 3050 Ti - 4.0GB GDDR6 Video RAM - DirectX® 12.1

When I spilled it I sent it away for an RMA and received the laptop back being told that the keyboard needed replaced and the motherboard had a little corrosion but passed the stress tests it was put under. 2 months passes and the laptop works without any faults whatsoever, however one day I try to switch it on and it does not work. I then send it back off with pc specialist telling me it will cost £700 to repair the motherboard and also the audio board? I am unable to pay this in finance and they told me the motherboard was beyond repair, which was confusing to me. It also felt on the phone as if they were trying to push a sale then repair my laptop and the guy at the end of the phone call - ryan - asked if I would give him a good word.... no ryan... i won't.... ANYWAY I didn't pay it and i'm getting it sent back to me. I need to know where I can buy a - 'Motherboard i7-12700H - NP70PNK' as it is displayed on the invoice as so. Any help on websites (or money 😉) would be much appreciated. Looking forward to hearing from everyone - Aidan :)

Your laptop is sold by PCSpecialist,
link: https://www.pcspecialist.co.uk/desktop-pcs/elimina-17/
And did you sent your laptop to them for repair?

I need to know where I can buy a - 'Motherboard i7-12700H - NP70PNK' as it is displayed on the invoice as so.

The thing with laptops is, that not all spare parts for them are readily available. It could be, where laptop manufacturer only sells the parts to certified repair shops and outside of those, no-one can buy spare parts.

Your best bet would be buying the same laptop you already have, but which is listed as "spare parts". Also, given that the MoBo in it is sound.
If not, either repair the one you have or buy a new one.

What you did with your latte - that i'd call life's tax.

Any help on websites (or money 😉) would be much appreciated.

You should pay us for the advice you're getting, not the other way around.

Thank you for the response Aeacus, I did send my laptop for repair the first time and this time and that is my laptop in question you linked :)

Could there be any certified repair shops you know of that I could buy motherboards from before I look into paying for the repair? also do you think it's worthwhile taking into to another repair shop in person because i'm confused more on the aspect of how they said it was fine then it stops working a few months later - only thing i really use it for is playing football manager lol so it's not like i'm putting it under stress and it's never flickered or stopped working before

I'd be paying you as a therapist at this point hahahaha

Maybe I can get a job on this website. Although i'm using my mums old crusty laptop right now so don't know how much of an expert i can be.

You're from UK, right? If so, then i don't know any local PC repair shops (i'm not from UK). But you could send the laptop in for manufacturer (PCSpecialist) if you haven't done that already.
For other, local shops, just use Google.

Liquid damage is a narly thing, since when it happens and it won't kill the hardware outright, it will leave lasting damage and that damage can creep up at any given time (e.g my fancy KB still, sometimes, types two "g", despite me pressing only once (easy 1+ years later after the "spill" i had). At least i'm lucky that my liquid spill didn't outright fry my KB).
So, it's hard to say if your MoBo died due to the liquid damage or by other causes.

Sure, you can go and ask for 2nd or 3rd opinion.

so it's not like i'm putting it under stress and it's never flickered or stopped working before

Nothing lasts for forever.

Yeah from the UK, but got a feeling that if i'm gonna get it fixed i might as well get it fixed from the supplier because it's custom built.

Liquid damage is a bitch so gonna have to take the hit and cancel my holidays this year ;/ I'm gonna say my motherboard died of a broken heart ;(

The greatest joke of the devil is he persuades you he doesn't exist - unless it's in the form of a chai latte
