hello the other day i was playing gmod and i ran into a problem ive not had in all the years ive been gaming on pc when i push to talk my game would freeze for like 10 seconds which in sticky situations is pretty much game breaking, i tried to find a fix but the gmod community are useless so i had to uninstall it. so today i played rocket league and the same exact problem freezes for about 10 seconds when i push to talk, that really annoyed me. now i have started playing ARK survival evolved and guess what the same problem an annoying freeze for about 10 seconds when i push to talk. ive tried to think what all these game have in common for it to be happening but i cant find a think they have in common and ive had this headset for about a year and have owned and play those exact games since ive had this headset. please someone help me fix this very annoying problem i really cant keep playing like this its peeing me off

Solution
Everything is coming full circle, lol.

Back when I used to play on a laptop, my game would freeze or crash while trying to push-to-talk in GMOD as well. I was stumped for ages, and finally had fixed it by uninstalling the realtek driver that it had come with, and used the default drivers from windows.

Of course, every situation is different. I fixed mine by removing drivers, but you may fix it by updating drivers. As Andy_Man make sure your drivers are completely up to date. You can do this through your device manager.
Sounds like a Driver issue. If you have audio drivers/audio manager software installed I would un-install it then reboot. (This will put you back on windows plug N play drivers). Then check for the issue. If you are already on plug N play drivers from windows, I would try installing the official drivers for your audio chipset. Then check for the issue again.

okay i gonna need help with the following 😀

•how do i find out what drivers i have installed

•where in device manager would i look to see what drivers may or may not need updating

• and if its a case of i haven't got the appropriate drivers what ones do i get

Press "Windows Key" & "Pause/Break" at the same time, then select device manager from the menu that pops up. In this menu, you can click on a driver and have windows attempt to automatically search for an update. Double clicking should bring up the properties of each of the devices, and under the Driver tab, you will find all that you want to know.
