Mother ide slot not working

8i845gvm-rz motherboard ide not working how to solve this problem

Firstly, check/change the IDE cable. Maybe the problem is there.

If not, and if it's not solved as yet.
Then go to the BIOS and Enable Primary and Secondary IDE channels.
Connect a HDD or A CD/DVD rom to the PATA cable and see if it is detected at boot....
Then revert.
