I have a MSI Boston 7525 its from a mass produced p6000 HP

It works fine with the orginal 300W psu but i need to upgrade it so i installed my 520w psu and it only runs for 1 second then turns off. I tried with only the ram-memory connected and the same thing happends.

I know that the psu is 100% fine, it works on my other asus mobo. Its not the first time im doing this the problem is that this msi mobo and the psu seem to hate each other but why? Please help me, give me suggestions. I need to get this specific psu to work with the msi mobo.

i have been going through the same thing now for about a week and figured it out (at least with this mobo) turns out that there is an 8 and 4 pin connector and its very picky about witch on is used were tho im not sure if you have a 8 and 4 or jsut a 4 or just an 8 but mine will only take the 8 pin set up for some weird reason. and it will attempt to post once shut off then it will start up with no problem. very odd

My psu has a 8 pin connector but I can break it up in two 4pin connectors and im using one of them to the mobo though it has a 4pin socket... its the same thing on my asus mobo and it works fine. This problem is totaly non logic =P

well if you only have a 4 pin then its not the psu. double check to see all the pins in the 24 pin are fine non bent if both those are fine then its not the psu. if its just starting then shuts down like that then it could be so many things. my only thought is maybe a bent pin in your socket of the cpu but the other psu will boot it fine. does the new psu have cords that are part of the block or are they set free from it. if there set free make sure that every cord is set in its respective socket on the psu and that echo on the back is off
